CAN-U recruiting new board members

CAN-U is looking for a few volunteers to join our Board of Directors.

What is CAN-U and what do we do?

Cumberland Adult Network for Upgrading (CAN-U) is a non-profit community learning organization governed by a volunteer board of directors. We are dedicated to helping adults throughout Cumberland County improve their academic and employability skills.

The CAN-U team is passionate about what we do, alive with positive energy and enthusiasm. For more than 20 years, CAN-U has been focused on providing programs focused on the very real needs of our diverse clients. Each learner who passes through our doors brings gifts to the table that they have yet to discover, and goals they are eager to realize. The transformations that occur here are true magic. Every year hundreds of adults navigate through CAN-U programs. Whether they’re studying for the GED, pursuing employment, or becoming self-sustaining for the first time, our interventions have the potential to change live.

How can you help?

Today, the challenge is to maintain an active volunteer board. CAN-U welcomes your involvement in future opportunities and strategic planning that will assist the organization to continue to grow and meet the ever-changing needs of adult learners.

CAN-U provides Directors & Officers Liability insurance to the directors.

We’re not carrying our learners to the other side of the raging river of life, but we do act as the rock in the middle of it all, a safe place and a stepping stone in the journey to the other side.
