Literacy Nova Scotia promotes the importance of improving literacy. Your stories inspire others to return to learning. All stories with the theme Literacy Changes Lives will be published in the Adult Learners’ Week ebooklet.
Who can enter? Any Nova Scotian enrolled in a program in one of the following:
Community-based learning organizations
Adult High Schools
NSCC (ALP, CCA LINC, Achieve, CANS works)
Work Activity groups
You can enter a written story (up to 500 words) in the form of an essay, poem or song. Or you can enter a video (between one and two minutes) and posted to YouTube. Your story includes:
why you returned to learning
how learning changed your life
your goals for the future
One entry per person, no group submissions. Deadline is Friday March 9th, 2018 at noon. The winner will be contacted on March 19th. By entering the draw you give permission to LNS to use your name, voice, image and your story to promote adult learning.
