Job Description

We are seeking an innovative self motivated individual to join our CAN-U team at Cumberland Adult Network for Upgrading. You will be hard working and enthusiastic with excellent subject knowledge and understanding of the Adult Learning Curricula.

The facilitator is the educational leader in the classroom and will ensure that the Adult Learning Program and curricula are implemented in a way that maximizes student learning experiences using a variety of learning strategies to assess Student Learning Outcomes.

The applicant will be a motivated individual with a keen interest in encouraging and inspiring adult learners to achieve their individual goal. It will be important to maintain accurate, complete records of learner attendance and progress.

Term

Position will start at once to August 2018 with possibility for contract renewal

Qualifications

Experience working with adult learners in an educational environment
Post secondary degree an asset (combination of education/experience considered)
Excellent computer skills
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multi task and adjust schedules as individual learner need dictates
Excellent knowledge of essential skills, SMART goals with innovative presentation techniques to deliver to the adult learner
Confident to handle a multi level classroom using the adult learning principles
Team player
Valid driver’s license & reliable transportation
Completion or willing to obtain Nova Scotia Literacy Practitioner Training
