All stories with the theme Literacy Changes Lives will be published in the Adult Learners’ Week ebooklet. Who can enter? Any Nova Scotian enrolled in a program in one of the following: Community-based learning organizations Adult High Schools NSCC (ALP, CCA LINC, Achieve, CANS works) Work Activity groups You can enter a written story (up to 500 words) in the form of an essay, poem or song. Community Kitchen at YMCA of Cumberland

Join us for the Community Kitchen program at the YMCA in Amherst to prepare and enjoy a delicious and nutritious lunch. Community members are invited to join us in preparing and cooking a meal for themselves and others to enjoy. When: Wednesdays beginning January 10th, 2018 from 10:00am-2:00pm Where: YMCA Community Room, 92 Church Street, Amherst. Who: Anyone is welcome. How much: There is no cost for this event. Freewill donations are greatly appreciated to help with the running of the program. Preparing and cooking of the lunch will start at 10:00am and lunch will be served from 12:00pm-1:30pm.
